Coaching and mentoring

Individual support for managers, leaders and people professionals who want to work through a challenge or develop their practice.

Coaching

Explore a situation, question assumptions and decide your next steps. Sessions can focus on confidence, a new role, working relationships or a specific goal.

Mentoring

A sounding board with practical insight from senior people and charity leadership experience. Bring the decisions or responsibilities you would value some support with.

We’ll agree the purpose, format and frequency together. There’s no need to choose a fixed programme before getting in touch.

How coaching and mentoring work

Understanding the work around the people

In charities and purpose-led organisations, people often balance responsibility for colleagues with the demands of delivering a service. Learning and development need to fit that context.

People, Practically is led by Ant Douglas, an HR-qualified senior people professional with experience in charity leadership and a Level 7 qualification in Executive and Senior Level Coaching and Mentoring.

Practical worksheets are also being developed for the free resources collection.

A few practical questions

Can we use a course in our own LMS?

Yes. The existing course is supplied as a SCORM 1.2 package. We’ll discuss your platform and licence requirements, and you should test the course in your target LMS before assigning it to learners.

Can I access learning without an LMS?

A hosted learner area is a future possibility. It isn’t available yet. The current learning offer is for organisations using their own LMS.

Is this only for people working in charities?

No. The services are open to all sectors. Charity and purpose-led work is a specialism, rather than a requirement.

What if I’m unsure about coaching or mentoring?

Tell us what you’d like help with. We can talk about the differences and agree whether either approach is suitable before you commit.
